Workshop series
Our dream was to create a series of immersive workshops with the best
artisans and artists we met on our path, in order to spread the common love
for natural materials, fading crafts, and sustainable living and to share the
knowledge around it with conscious, creative souls.
This is how Artisans of Now was born, an archive of tradition coming
from different fields, ready to be put in practice during laboratories hold in
the most beautiful locations around Italy, thoroughly curated and
involving all senses for a sincere and memorable experience, in re-connection
with Mother Earth.
To reach our artist’s soul , reconnect with our creative well, and tap into our primitive collective wisdom, we are proposing a one-of-a-kind intuitive and immersive sculpting workshop, a journey in which we will discover the transformative power of creation, from raw earth to art, from our origins to our higher creative selves, exploring our artistic identity and gaining insight into the art and galleries market.
We will be guided by the visionary artist Roberta Busato, whose esteemed work transcends conventional boundaries and blends various disciplines. The result is a body of work that goes beyond mere expression to evoke profound emotions and stir the soul. In her pursuit of artistic authenticity, she uncovers raw earth, the most ancient of materials, rich in history, memory, and symbolism, accessible to everyone, everywhere. Each sculpture reflects her personal journey of exploration, embodying raw beauty, transparency and truth.
With her, we will learn how to read the territory, collect the local earth, and process it in the ancient way to obtain ‘Terra cruda’ and model it by hand. We will use texturing and smoothing techniques and discover the world of natural fibers to mix with the clay, create our own working tools and design armatures for our sculptures. While bringing our pieces to life, inspired by a tailored creative process, we will explore our artistic identity and gain insight into the art and galley market. Finally, we will learn how to polish and protect the finished pieces, how to display and narrate them, and how to set up a collective exhibition, presentation and confrontation.
This 5-day course is dedicated to aspiring, emerging, and established artists who wish to explore or deepen their understanding of sculpting with raw earth. Participants will engage in the entire process, from extracting the raw material to shaping it into a masterpiece, in a sincere, independent, and conscious manner. This approach enables artists to replicate these techniques anywhere with awareness, authenticity, freedom of expression, and low environmental impact, ready to gift the world with their awakened talent.
